No apologies. No Egrets
A recommendation: if you intend to write a poem with a complex rhyming structure, don't pick "egrets" as your rhyming word. It's a lot harder than it seems at first. That said...
I would not place any bets
On finding a bird today.
But.. no apologies; no egrets.
There are no eagles, so lets
Be on our merry way.
And let's have no regrets.
There is no day that upsets
Me more than one with just one lone blue jay.
But.. No apologies; no egrets.
But still, we go out in search of falconets.
And we do our best to play
And let's have no regrets.
So let's search from minarets,
Looking for Pyrrhuloxiae.
But.. No apologies; no egrets.
Maybe we'll just check the banding nets
Looking for a migrant stray.
And let's have no regrets.
But.. No apologies; no egrets.
